Bedhead and Side Tables

This custom bedhead with integrated bedside tables is made from Victorian Ash, laminated with Tasmanian Blackwood, designed to suit a king size bed. The brief, given by the client, was to design and build a bed head that resembled the style of a 1970’s longboard.

Threaded inserts are fixed to the bed head, allowing the side tables to be attached using bolts. This means the headboard and side tables can be easily dismantled for transportation.

Finished in a wipe on poly. The first coat is applied generously with a brush as it absorbs quickly. The following second and third coats are wiped on with a cloth.
